Bergger Panchromatic BPF 200

BPF 200 ia a fine-grain panchromatic negative film with a speed odf ASA 200. It has a good resolving power and a wide exposure latitude. It can be readily exposed with daylight or by flash. With a 3200°K light source, a conversion filter is needed to balance red sensitivity. You may test for your own conditions to determine the correct exposure.

HANDLING
Sheet films should be handled in total darkness. Each Sheet is code-notched to aid in emulsion-side identification. When the noth is in the upper right-hand side of the film sheet, the emulsion is facing you.

DEVELOPMENT
Excellent results are obtained with most of good b&w film developers. For best results, two part (Ecco 96) developer is recommended. To obtain 0.55 G, use the following development times at 20°C with agitation every 30 seconds.

D76 5.0 minutes
Ecco 96 Part A 1+1 10.0 minutes
Ecco 96 Part A 8.5 minutes
Ecco 96 Part B 3.0 minutes

Bergger Prestige Fine-Art

PRESTIGE FINE-ART is an extra-premiium (320g/m2), semi-matte photographic paper with a 100% cotton rag base. It a single grade emulsion (approximately grade 2) which is particularly high in silver content and gives extremely deep blacks and wide range of mid-tones.

It has excellent toning capability and due to the quality of its paper base and surface softness, it allows un-matched possibilities of hand-coloring.

PRESTIGE FINE-ART also gives wonderful results when used to make contact prints from large negatives made with BPF 200 film.

HANDLING
Red safelight such as from a Wratten 1A is recommended. With direct illumination from a 15 Watt bulb. Direct minimum working distance is 1.5m (5 feet). It is a good idea to test for safelight fog from time-to-time.

EXPOSURE
PRESTIGE FINE-ART can be exposed with all types of enlarger and printer light source. Exact exposure times may be found by test strips (small, extra sheets of the paper are enclosed for this purpose).

DEVELOPMENT
Process in any good quality paper developer at 20°C (68°F) for 2 to 3 min. with continuous agitation.

STOP BATH
An acid stop bath is optional but recommended. It quickly stops development by neutralizing alkali. This also helps extend fixer life. Dilution : 25 cc of 28% acetic acid in 1 litre of water. Stop bath time : 15 seconds or 20 to 30 seconds of water rinse.

FIXING (maximum time: 10 minutes)
Treat in a conventional sodium thiosultate fixer for a minimum of 5 min. at 20°C (68°F). Normal fixer capacity is 1.5 sqm/litre. A two bath fixing method (at 2.5 min. per bath) may be used to avoid under-fixing. When the first bath is exhausted, replace it with the second bath and mix a fresh << second bath >>. With ammonium thiosulfate (<< rapid >>) fixers, treat for 30 to 45 seconds only, then give a thorough pre-wash for 5 min, Next, treat with a wash-aid (see a << WASHING >>, below) with frequent agitation for 10 min. before transferring to a final wash.

WASHING
The use of a wash aid (such as Kodak Hypo Clearing Agent) will reduce your wash time and increase the efficiency of your washing. As well, it will help guarantee the permanence of your photograph. Wash PRESTIGE in running water at a rate fast enough to completely change once every 5 minutes. Wash time is 1 hour at 20°C (68°F) or 30 min. if a wash aid has been used.

DRYING
To effect even and rapid drying, you may use a wetting agent as a final rinse. Excess water should be removed from the surface of prints with a clean sponge or squeegee. Prints may then be dried in dust-free air on drying screens or in a clean photo-blotter.

Bergger Prestige Variable NB

PRESTIGE VARIABLE NB is a double weight photographic paper with a high quality emulsion. Its superb fiber base gives it exceptional results and whiteness. Surface is glossy. It gives a neutral image tone. PRESTIGE VARIABLE NB can produce an image from a soft tone to an exceptionally hard tone due to the emulsion incorporating both blue and green sensitivities. By using a multi filter set, contrast range from 0 to 5 are available, in half grade increments from a single paper.

CONTRAST
Using Ilford's Multigrade 2 filter set, 12 contrast grades are possible from this paper. With Kodak's Polycontrast 2 which are recommanded, 11 contrast grades are available.

HANDLING
Kodak OC or equivalent safelight is recommended. It is a good idea to test for safelight fog from time-to-time.

EXPOSURE
Double weight glossy PRESTIGE paper can be exposed with all enlarger and printer light source. Be aware that some older types of cold light tubes may normally require more yellow filtration.

DEVELOPMENT
Process in any good quality paper developer at 20°C (68°F) for 1½ to 2 min. with continuous agitation. BERGGER << ecco >> developers work pariculary well with this paper.

Bergger Prestige Variable CB

PRESTIGE VARIABLE CB is a double weight photographic paper with warm black image tone. Its heavy (300 gm2), superb fiber base gives it exceptional results. Surface is glossy.
PRESTIGE VARIABLE CB can produce an image from a soft tone to an exceptionally hard tone due to the emulsion incorporating both blue and green sensitivities. By using a multi filter set, contrast range from 0 to 5 are available, in half grade increments from a single paper.

HANDLING
Red safelight as for VC paper is recommended. With a 15 watt bulb direct illumination, minimum working distance is 1.5m. Safelight exposure longer than 2 minutes will lead to fog increase. It is a good idea to test for safelight fog from time-to-time.

EXPOSURE
PRESTIGE VARIABLE CB paper can be exposed with all enlarger and printer light source. Be aware that some older types of cold light tubes may normally require more yellow filtration. For instance, with Kodak filters, right exposure times should be: 8 sec. for filters number 0; 1 and 2; 9 sec. for filter number 3 and 27 sec. for filters number 4 and 5.
